The Mechanix Wear The Original combines a breathable back with reinforcement around the thumb and fingers. CoolPlus woven-mesh helps reduce heat buildup, and the snag-reducing mesh covers the back of the hand in a single panel with fewer seams. At the wrist, the Freedom-Flex cuff reduces bunching across the back of your hand as you move. An adjustable hook-and-loop closure holds the glove securely in place.

Reinforcement focuses on areas exposed to wear. The welded Lock Ring panel wraps around the base of the thumb, adding durability with less vulnerable stitching, while welded synthetic leather finger coverings resist abrasion and improve comfort. On the palm, 0.8mm synthetic leather lets you operate a touchscreen without taking the gloves off. Vented padding at the heel of the palm provides protection from light strikes and vibrations while allowing more airflow.
