The Wiley X Spear protective goggles combine interchangeable Clear and Grey shields with a lightweight Matte Tan goggle frame and removable Facial Cavity™ Seal. The two-shield configuration supports transitions between bright outdoor and untinted reduced-light conditions, while NVG compatibility and defined military fragment-impact testing give the goggles particular relevance to tactical use.

The Spear goggles provide Clear and Grey shields for distinctly different light conditions. Both shields fit the same goggle frame, allowing the wearer to move between bright outdoor environments and indoor or reduced-light settings without requiring separate goggles.
A removable Facial Cavity™ Seal forms a soft foam barrier around the eyes, helping reduce the entry of wind, dust, debris and peripheral light. The goggles are also designed for use with compatible night vision equipment.

The Wiley X Spear goggles are suited to tactical activities involving changes between bright outdoor, indoor and reduced-light environments. Their removable foam seal is relevant where wind, dust or debris may be present, while NVG compatibility supports use with night vision equipment during low-light operations.
The seal helps limit environmental intrusion around the eyes but does not create a completely sealed enclosure.

The Facial Cavity™ Seal uses soft foam to form a removable barrier around the eyes. Removing it allows the goggles to be worn without the foam barrier when the additional environmental coverage is unnecessary.
Shield details
Clear
89% light transmissionThe Clear shield allows a high proportion of available light through without adding a tint, helping colours retain a natural appearance. It is intended for indoor use and reduced-light conditions such as dawn, dusk, haze and overcast weather.
Grey
15% light transmissionThe Grey shield reduces intense glare and brightness while keeping colours close to their natural appearance. It is intended for strong sunlight and other bright outdoor conditions.
Both shields are made from strong, durable Selenite™ polycarbonate and provide 100% UVA and UVB protection. Their T-Shell™ coating helps resist scratches and limit surface damage, although scratch-resistant does not mean scratch-proof.

ANSI Z87.1
Assesses the complete goggles against defined high-velocity and high-mass impact tests. These include a fast-moving 6.35 mm steel ball and a 500 g pointed falling projectile; the goggle frame and shields must remain intact during testing.
MIL-PRF-32432A
Assesses the complete goggle-and-shield system against a defined American military high-speed fragment-impact requirement. Test velocities vary according to the applicable product category.
