The Wiley X Grid CAPTIVATE™ Polarized Grey combines a 15% light-transmission fishing lens with a high-wrap Matte Utility Green frame and removable Facial Cavity™ Seal. Polarised filtration reduces water-surface glare, while the seal helps limit environmental interference around the eyes. The complete eyewear has been assessed against defined American and European impact requirements.
Polarized Filter 8™ reduces glare reflected from water and other shiny surfaces. The Grey-based CAPTIVATE™ lens increases contrast and makes green tones more distinct while keeping most colours relatively natural.
The Base Curve 8 frame follows the face closely and uses rubberised temples and nose pads at its contact points. A removable Facial Cavity™ Seal helps reduce the entry of wind, dust, debris and peripheral light.
Polarised filtration reduces reflections from the water’s surface.
The 15% light transmission is intended for intense sunlight and other strong daylight.
The Grey base limits strong colour alteration while making green tones more distinct.
The Facial Cavity™ Seal helps reduce wind, dust, debris and peripheral light around the eyes.
The Base Curve 8 frame includes rubberised temples and nose pads for added grip.
The complete eyewear has been evaluated against ANSI Z87.1 and EN.166F requirements.
This configuration is particularly relevant to deep-water fishing in intense sunlight. Motorcycle, outdoor sport, airsoft and hardball are credible secondary uses where a close-fitting frame and removable environmental barrier may be useful.

The Base Curve 8 frame provides a close-fitting, high-wrap profile. Rubberised temples and nose pads add grip at the frame’s contact points, while a button temple-tip strap provides an additional retention option.
The Base Curve 8 frame provides a close-fitting, high-wrap profile. Rubberised temples and nose pads add grip at the frame’s contact points, while a button temple-tip strap provides an additional retention option.
The removable Facial Cavity™ Seal forms a soft barrier around the eyes but does not create a completely sealed enclosure. Its environmental function is separate from the impact performance established by the defined complete-eyewear assessments.
The frame is made from lightweight, durable Triloid™ Nylon. Its Matte Utility Green finish provides a muted, non-glossy appearance.
Polarized Filter 8™ reduces horizontal light reflected from water, wet roads, windscreens and other shiny surfaces. Around water, reducing interference from surface reflections may make observable features beneath the surface easier to distinguish, depending on water clarity, available light and viewing conditions. CAPTIVATE™ technology manages selected wavelengths by separating areas of overlapping blue, green and red light. The Grey base keeps most colours relatively natural while increasing contrast and making green tones appear more distinct. The lenses also filter selected blue light reflected from water and selected short-wavelength blue light associated with atmospheric haze. They block UVA, UVB and blue light at wavelengths up to 430 nm.
The lenses are made from strong, durable Selenite™ polycarbonate and provide 100% UVA and UVB protection.
Anti-reflective coating: Reduces distracting reflections from the rear surface of the polarised lenses.
Oleophobic coating: Helps reduce smudges and makes oil, dirt and moisture easier to remove.
T-Shell™ coating: Helps resist scratches and limit surface damage, although scratch-resistant does not mean scratch-proof.
This configuration is assessed against ANSI Z87.1, EN.166F.
Assesses the complete eyewear against defined high-velocity and high-mass impact requirements. These include tests using a fast-moving 6.35 mm steel ball and a 500 g pointed falling projectile; the frame and lenses must remain intact during testing.
Confirms that the complete eyewear has passed a defined low-energy impact test in which the lenses must remain in the frame and must not shatter under the specified conditions.
