The Wiley X Gravity CAPTIVATE™ Polarized Blue Mirror combines an 11% light-transmission lens for deep-water fishing with a close-fitting Black Crystal, high-wrap frame. Polarised filtration reduces water-surface glare in intense sunlight, while a removable Facial Cavity™ Seal helps limit the entry of wind, dust, debris and peripheral light. The complete frame-and-lens system has been assessed against a defined military fragment-impact standard.
Polarized Filter 8™ reduces horizontally reflected glare from water and other shiny surfaces. This makes the Blue Mirror configuration particularly relevant to deep-water fishing in intense sunlight.
CAPTIVATE™ technology filters selected wavelengths to increase contrast and help colours and details appear more distinct. The Grey lens base keeps most colours close to their natural appearance while making green tones more noticeable. Its 11% light transmission is intended for intense sunlight and other bright daytime conditions.
The removable Facial Cavity™ Seal forms a soft foam barrier around the eyes to help reduce interference from wind, dust, debris and peripheral light. It can be removed when this additional environmental barrier is unnecessary. The seal does not create a completely enclosed design.

This Gravity configuration is primarily intended for deep-water fishing in intense sunlight. Its polarised filter reduces water-surface glare, while the high-wrap frame and removable seal provide a close-fitting configuration around the eyes.
Motorcycle use is a relevant secondary application where the seal may help reduce environmental interference from wind, dust and airborne debris. The lens also suits daytime driving and other bright-day activities involving reflective surfaces. Its 11% light transmission is designed for strong daylight rather than reduced-light conditions.

The removable Facial Cavity™ Seal forms a soft foam barrier around the eyes. It helps reduce the entry of wind, dust, debris and peripheral light but does not create a completely sealed enclosure. Its environmental-barrier function is separate from the defined impact performance of the tested frame-and-lens system.
Polarized Filter 8™ reduces horizontal light reflected from water, wet roads, windscreens and other shiny surfaces. Around water, reducing interference from surface reflections may make observable features beneath the surface easier to distinguish, depending on water clarity, available light and viewing conditions. CAPTIVATE™ technology manages selected wavelengths by separating areas of overlapping blue, green and red light. The Blue Mirror lens filters selected blue light reflected from water, while its Grey base keeps most colours relatively natural and makes green tones appear more distinct. The lenses also filter selected short-wavelength blue light associated with atmospheric haze and block UVA, UVB and blue light at wavelengths up to 430 nm.
The lenses are made from strong, durable Selenite™ polycarbonate and provide 100% UVA and UVB protection.
Anti-reflective coating: Reduces distracting reflections from the rear surface of the polarised lenses.
Oleophobic coating: Helps reduce smudges and makes oil, dirt and moisture easier to remove.
T-Shell™ coating: Helps resist scratches and limit surface damage, although scratch-resistant does not mean scratch-proof.
This configuration is assessed against ANSI Z87.1, MIL-PRF-32432(GL), EN.166F.
Assesses the complete eyewear against defined high-velocity and high-mass impact requirements. These include tests using a fast-moving 6.35 mm steel ball and a 500 g pointed falling projectile; the frame and lenses must remain intact during testing.
Evaluates the complete frame-and-lens system against a defined military fragment-impact standard using a .15 calibre projectile travelling at 702–724 km/h.
Confirms that the complete eyewear has passed a defined low-energy impact test in which the lenses must remain in the frame and must not shatter under the specified conditions.
