Designed for active outdoor use in bright daylight, the Wiley X Alpine combines a 14% light-transmission CAPTIVATE™ Tungsten Mirror lens with a ventilated Matte Graphite Grey high-wrap frame. Its contrast-enhancing lens, airflow system and moisture-responsive contact points support cycling, running, trail, shooting and tactical activities. The complete frame-and-lens system has also been assessed against a defined American military fragment-impact requirement.
The CAPTIVATE™ Tungsten Mirror lens reduces brightness in intense sunlight while increasing contrast and helping colours and visual details appear easier to distinguish. Its Grey base keeps colours close to their natural appearance.
The high-wrap frame combines airflow channels with semi-hooked temples and hydrophilic rubber contact points. These features help manage condensation and support stability as movement and moisture increase.
Provides 14% light transmission for intense sunlight and other bright daytime conditions.
Selected wavelength filtering increases contrast and helps colours and visual details appear more distinct.
Side channels direct airflow behind the lens to help manage condensation.
Semi-hooked temples and hydrophilic rubber contact points support stability during movement.
Provides 100% UVA and UVB protection with anti-reflective, oleophobic and scratch-resistant treatments.
The complete frame-and-lens system has been assessed against MIL-PRF-32432A.
The WX Alpine Tungsten Mirror configuration is particularly suited to cycling, running, trail activities, daytime driving, shooting and tactical use in intense sunlight and other bright daytime conditions.
It can also be used for bright-day fishing when brightness control and contrast enhancement are the priorities. This Tungsten Mirror lens is not polarised, so customers specifically seeking reduced glare from the water’s surface should choose a polarised lens configuration.

The high-wrap Base Curve 8 frame is made from lightweight, durable Triloid™ Nylon. Its Matte Graphite Grey finish gives it a subdued, non-glossy appearance.

The Dynamic Ventilation System directs airflow through integrated side channels and behind the lens to help manage condensation. Semi-hooked temples and rubber nose and temple contact points support a stable fit. The hydrophilic rubber is designed to provide more grip as moisture increases.
The CAPTIVATE™ lens manages selected wavelengths by separating overlapping blue, green and red light. This increases contrast and helps colours and visual differences appear more distinct, while the Grey base keeps colours close to their natural appearance. The lens is intended for intense sunlight and other bright daytime conditions. It reduces scattered short-wavelength blue light associated with haze and filters ultraviolet and blue light at wavelengths up to 430 nm.
The 2.5 mm lens is made from strong, durable Selenite™ polycarbonate and provides 100% UVA and UVB protection.
Anti-reflective coating: Reduces distracting reflections from the back surface of the lens.
Oleophobic coating: Helps reduce smudges and makes dirt, oil and moisture easier to remove.
T-Shell™ coating: Helps resist scratches and limit surface damage, although scratch-resistant does not mean scratch-proof.
This configuration is assessed against ANSI Z87.1, MIL-PRF-32432A, ISO 12312-1.
Assesses the complete eyewear against defined high-velocity and high-mass impact tests. These include a fast-moving 6.35 mm steel ball and a 500 g pointed falling projectile; the frame and lens must remain intact during testing.
Assesses the complete frame-and-lens system against a defined American military high-speed fragment-impact requirement. Test velocities vary according to the applicable eyewear category.
Assesses sunglasses intended for normal wear and driving against defined optical, classification and user-information requirements.
