Built for deep-water fishing in bright sunlight, the Wiley X Alpine combines a 14% light-transmission CAPTIVATE™ Polarized Tungsten Mirror lens with a ventilated Matte Black/Tan high-wrap frame. Its reflected-glare control and active fit support demanding outdoor use. The complete frame-and-lens system has also been assessed against a defined American military fragment-impact requirement.
The dark polarised lens is intended for intense sunlight and other bright daytime conditions. It reduces glare reflected from water and other shiny surfaces, while CAPTIVATE™ technology increases contrast and helps colours and visual details appear easier to distinguish.
The high-wrap frame combines airflow channels with semi-hooked temples and hydrophilic rubber contact points. These features help manage condensation and support stability during active use.

Side channels direct airflow behind the lens to help manage condensation.
Semi-hooked temples and hydrophilic rubber contact points support stability during movement.
Provides 100% UVA and UVB protection with anti-reflective, oleophobic and scratch-resistant treatments.
The complete frame-and-lens system has been assessed against MIL-PRF-32432A.
The WX Alpine is particularly suited to deep-water fishing in intense sunlight and other bright daytime conditions. It is also relevant to daytime driving, cycling, running, trail activities, shooting and tactical use where reflected glare, heat or active movement are important considerations.

The high-wrap Base Curve 8 frame is made from lightweight, durable Triloid™ Nylon. Its Matte Black/Tan finish combines a non-glossy black front with contrasting tan details.

The Dynamic Ventilation System directs airflow through integrated side channels and behind the lens to help manage condensation. Semi-hooked temples and rubber nose and temple contact points support a stable fit. The hydrophilic rubber is designed to provide more grip as moisture increases.
The CAPTIVATE™ lens manages selected wavelengths by separating overlapping blue, green and red light. This increases contrast and helps colours and visual differences appear more distinct, while the Grey base keeps colours close to their natural appearance. Polarized Filter 8™ reduces horizontal light reflected from surfaces such as water, wet roads and windscreens. Around water, reducing surface glare can make observable features beneath the surface easier to distinguish where water clarity, light and viewing conditions permit. The lens also reduces scattered short-wavelength blue light associated with haze and filters ultraviolet and blue light at wavelengths up to 430 nm.
The 2.5 mm lens is made from strong, durable Selenite™ polycarbonate and provides 100% UVA and UVB protection.
Anti-reflective coating: Reduces distracting reflections from the back surface of the polarised lens.
Oleophobic coating: Helps reduce smudges and makes dirt, oil and moisture easier to remove.
T-Shell™ coating: Helps resist scratches and limit surface damage, although scratch-resistant does not mean scratch-proof.
This configuration is assessed against ANSI Z87.1, MIL-PRF-32432A, ISO 12312-1.
Assesses the complete eyewear against defined high-velocity and high-mass impact tests. These include a fast-moving 6.35 mm steel ball and a 500 g pointed falling projectile; the frame and lens must remain intact during testing.
Assesses the complete frame-and-lens system against a defined American military high-speed fragment-impact requirement. Test velocities vary according to the applicable eyewear category.
Assesses sunglasses intended for normal wear and driving against defined optical, classification and user-information requirements.
