The CAPTIVATE™ Black Mirror lens combines a Grey base with wavelength-filtering technology for intense sunlight and general daytime use. The technology helps separate colours and increase contrast, while the Grey base keeps colours close to their natural appearance.

Anti-reflective, oleophobic and scratch-resistant coatings help manage reflections, smudges and surface wear.

The frame is made from Triloid™ Nylon, a lightweight, durable non-metal material. Its low weight supports comfortable wear, while the material contributes to the frame strength required for rigorous safety testing. This configuration has a two-tone Matte Black/Red finish.

CAPTIVATE™ Black Mirror

13% light transmission

The lens uses a Grey base to keep colours close to their natural appearance. CAPTIVATE™ technology manages selected wavelengths by separating overlapping blue, green and red light, helping colours appear more distinct and increasing contrast. The technology also reduces scattered short-wavelength blue light that can contribute to haze. The lens filters UV and blue light at wavelengths up to 430 nm and provides 100% UVA and UVB protection.

The lens is made from Selenite™ polycarbonate, providing the strength and durability needed for demanding optical safety testing.

T-Shell™: Provides scratch resistance to help limit surface damage. Scratch-resistant does not mean scratch-proof.

Anti-reflective coating: Reduces distracting reflections from the back surface of the lens to support visual comfort and clarity.

Oleophobic coating: Creates a smoother surface that helps reduce smudges and makes dirt, oil and moisture easier to remove.

Protection backed by defined testing

This configuration is assessed against ANSI Z87.1, MIL-PRF-32432A, ISO 12312-1.

ANSI Z87.1

Assesses the complete eyewear against defined high-velocity and high-mass impact tests. These include a fast-moving 6.35 mm steel ball and a 500 g pointed falling projectile; the frame and lens must remain intact during testing.

MIL-PRF-32432A

Assesses the complete frame-and-lens system against a defined American military high-speed fragment-impact requirement, with test velocities set according to the eyewear category.

ISO 12312-1

Sets requirements for sunglasses intended for normal wear and driving, including optical performance, product classification and user information.
