Sunglasses with a base curve 7 have lenses that are less curved than a pair of base curve 8 sunglasses, which gives them a medium wrap fit. This means that the sunglasses will not enclose your face in the same way, but rather sit flatter against your face.
If you need a pair of sunglasses with high prescription, a pair of base curve 6 sunglasses are especially good, as the flatter base curve is better at containing the high prescription.
Sunglasses with a base curve 7 will not block the sun in your peripheral field of view to as great an extent, as a pair of sunglasses with a base curve 8. However, the base curve 7 has a fit, which fits most head sizes and will, as such, be perfect on most faces.
