Well hasn’t this been a hell of a year!
I hope that you are all safe and well and I’m hoping that we will be able to get back to business as soon as possible.
On the 1st of June Bellmt (Pty) Ltd was officially signed as the master distributor for Mechanix wear in Africa, this is a very positive step for our company and shows a long term commitment from Mechanix Wear to Africa and the growth of the brand within the region. We are very excited about this development and with the additional support and backing from Mechanix Wear, the future is looking very promising.
One of the biggest advantages we are expecting is a drastic increase in the stock we are able to hold locally and access to better sales and marketing materials and support.
With these changes and to meet the guidelines of our agreement with Mechanix Wear we have had to restructure our local business which is going to affect our current structure in South Africa.
We will no longer be selling directly to end-users so we will be closing our store and our eCommerce website within the next few weeks. We will be appointing distributors who will take over the handling of the client network and support our current clients within South Africa.
Jonathan will be taking over as our main distributor for South Africa from the 1st of June, a few of you may have met him already because he has been working with me for the last few months while we finalised this agreement. If you haven’t spoken to him yet though I know that he will be contacting you over the next few days to formally introduce himself and his company and to discuss the changes in further detail. If you would like to contact him his phone number is 082 310 5624 and his email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
I have also decided that we should streamline the operation going forward and focus our energy on the line of items that are more popular to the majority of our clients. These will be our core stocked items, we want to limit the “Stock-outs” that you have been experiencing as much as we can. We will therefore gradually phase out some of the slow-moving items, we will be selling them as “end of line” items at a reduced price.
Thank you for your support during these difficult and often frustrating times. I would also appreciate your input so that we can make this transition go as smoothly as possible. If you have any questions or would more information please feel free to contact either of us.
